Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi says more than One-hundred and thirty-five thousand square kilometers of the country's area has been affected by floods.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Qureshi said that Pakistan in immediate need of 450 to 500 million dollars for the flood affectees.

He said that the provision of clean drinking water is a major challenge along with food and medicine.

The foreign minister stated that the livestock and agriculture of flood hit areas has been badly affected.

Qureshi said that he has briefed the UN General Secretary Ban Ki Moon on the flood disaster.
