The death toll in a suicide bomb attack at a police station in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa city of Laki Marwat, rose to 18 with dozens others injured, Geo News reported Monday. The relief activities are afoot on the blast site. According to police sources, an alleged bomber rammed his explosive-packed vehicle into the wall of Laki City Police Station, destroying a part of the premises and some other nearby buildings including Laki City Hospital. Severe volley of gunshots were rung in the wake of blast. According to eyewitnesses, school-going kids and passers-by also were struck besides police personnel, as 18 bodies including five police personnel and four school going girls, have been retrieved from the rubble thus far. At least 45 police personnel were present at the police station at the time of blast. According to police sources, at least eight police personnel lost their lives in the blast. The work to recover the bodies and injured is still in progress, as scores of people are stuck under debris. The forces put security cordon around the blast and erected pickets around the city.
