Sialkot brothers’ cousins were attacked by unknown persons today who also threatened them to stay away from the lynching case under Supreme Court investigation.

A few yards away from Naka-Pura police station in Sialkot, some unknown persons attacked Maarij and Mutbahir and ran away. The two injured, who are cousins of the lynched Butt brothers, were rushed to a local private hospital where their health is out of danger.

Police arrived at the crime scene after the news was broadcast by Dunya News TV channel.

Dunya News has been following up the lynching case after first breaking the news on August 16 – a day after the two Butt brothers were beaten to death by a mob in Sialkot in the presence of police personnel.

Zarrar Butt, the uncle of the lynched brothers told media they were getting threats to stay away from the matter.

Butt said “we will do our best to get justice”. Zarrar told Dunya News the police was not cooperating with them.
