Afghanistan knocked favourites Pakistan out of the cricket competition at the Asian Games, recording a shock 22-run victory in the semi-finals.

Led by a brilliant all-round performance from Karim Khan Sadeq, Afghanistan restricted Pakistan to 103-7 from its 20 overs after posting a decent 125-8 on Thursday.

Sadeq made a useful 19 runs as an opener and the off spinner later dented Pakistan run chase with twin strike in the 14th over.

Sri Lanka will play Bangladesh in Thursday’s other semi-finals.
