Former prime minister and head of the Pakistan Muslim League-N Mian Nawaz Sharif said on Sunday that his party would strongly oppose the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO), which was the brainchild of Pervez Musharraf.

He said its presentation in parliament would embarrass legislators, including those of the Pakistan People’s Party.He said this in an interview to a visiting senior journalist Zahid Hameedi, who produces a TV program on a US TV channel MHZ networks, particularly for the overseas Pakistanis.

On the Kerry-Lugar Law, Sharif said its certain clauses would affect our national sovereignty. He said he had expressed his reservations during a meeting with John Kerry on his recent visit to Pakistan.
