Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni elected to bat first after winning the toss. India secured 339 runs and all the team was out at 49.5 balls. SR Tendulkar made 120 runs on 115 balls. While Mahendra Singh Dhoni secured only runs 31 runs on 25 balls.


While, England’s player AJ Strauss made 158 runs on 145 balls and IR Bell secured 69 runs on 71 balls.

Dhoni said that there was no pressure on the home side of playing in front of the capacity home crowd. His English counterpart Andrew Strauss said that he too would like to bat first on the surface, however he hopped that the pitch would remain the same for 100 overs.

The authorities have deployed 3,000 policemen to ensure foolproof security for the match.
