Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa said that government of PML-N has increased the budget up to Rs 45 billion during just 3 years for the welfare of people of South Punjab.

He expressed these views while talking to the delegationof MPAs here Sunday.

Khosa said that the leadership of PML-N was fully committed for providing more resources to South Punjab and every possible step was being taken for the uplift of people of South Punjab.

He said in the budget for 2008-09, Rs 25.75 billion had been earmarked for the 11 districts of South Punjab while in next year 2011-12 Rs 70 billion had been allocated for South Punjab development.

This huge increase in the development budget of South Punjab was the vivid reflection of the commitment of our leadership with the people of South Punjab.

He said that Quaid of PML-N, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, were taking great interest for the development and progress of under-privileged areas especially of South Punjab.

He said the population of South Punjab was 31% but our government had allocated 32% funds of total annual development programme which was Rs 70 billion of Rs 220billion.

He said that equal distribution of resources to all areas under an identical system, had been ensured in next year budget. He said that provincial budget would help create new employment opportunities, eradication of poverty and lay a foundation of solid progress of a province and no doubt it was a real 'Awami' and welfare budget.
