Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman saw no possibility of formation of the proposed independent commission to investigate into the Abbottabad incident, saying ‘the government will not constitute the commission’.

Talking to media men at the conclusion of three-day meeting of his party’s Chief Executive Committee, Fazl said: “The government will not constitute the Abbottabad commission because it will be difficult for it to hold the army or intelligence agency accountable if their involvement was proved.”

He said first of all there was no chance of any commission being formed and if somehow constituted it would not produce any result.

The JUI Chief said decision has been made to make Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) functional again and in this regard a meeting of all the representative parties would soon be convened.

He said launching an offensive in North Waziristan would be very perilous and result in dreadful consequences for the country.

On the issue of Opposition Leader in the Senate, he said Pakistan Muslim League-N always tries to approach the judiciary in every matter.

He said being a majority group in the Senate, it was the right of JUI to have its Opposition Leader there.
