Member of the National Assembly Marvi Memon on Wednesday resigned from National Assembly and her basic party membership.
She tendered her resignation citing alleged failure of the government on different accounts.
She submitted the resignation to the Speaker and walked out of the House.
Federal Minister Syed Khurshid Ahmad Shah said this was nothing but double standards because the member did not show moral courage when rights of the people were usurped by a dictator. He said we should avoid resorting to point scoring.
Parliamentary leader of the PML(Q) Faisal Saleh Hayat said he had been counseling the member to abide by party discipline or resign.
