Two member Pakistan snooker team will leave from Karachi for Dubai Thursday (today) to take part in the Encon Team International Snooker Championship.
Pakistan no 1 Shahid Aftab and Pakistan no 2 M Sajjad of National Bank will represent Pakistan in this event. These players continued training for three weeks at Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Snooker Lounge under the supervision of Pakistan Billiard and Snooker Association.
Talking to TheNation Pakistan Billiard and Snooker Association President (PBSA) , Alamgir Sheikh said training at PSB centre will help a lot to the players. He expressed the hope that they will perform well for the country in the competition. He thanked Sports Ministry and Pakistan Sports Board for providing special grant for the team to take part in the Dubai event.
Team will return from Dubai on June 29 and will continue training at Karachi before leaving for Thailand, Bangkok to participate in the 2011 World Snooker Cup, Alamgir hoped both these players will perform up to their abilities in both the events and return home as a champion, he concluded.
The Pakistan Billiards/Snooker Association (PBSA) announced that all the arrangements regarding the Pakistan team's participation in the championship have been finalised.
The Pakistan team will return home on June 29.
The team will remain in training on its return home from Dubai till its departure on July 10 for Thailand to appear in the World Cup 2011.
