Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan says President Asif Ali Zardari’s performance on Wednesday was nothing more than a theatrical charade of a man who has lost all his cards and is now trying to bluff the nation by creating an environment of confrontation in a country, which is already beset by huge issues and problems.

“It didn’t suit the occupant of the highest office of the land to use the presidency for a massive onslaught against the media and his political opponents,” .

Chaudhry Nisar said he had always maintained and repeatedly asked the president that if he wanted to play politics, he must vacate the president house and use the political turf for his political style of pointscoring. “I wonder who advised Zardari to make the speech that he did. It looked like the last speech of a beleaguered president who was probably making it before his time,” the prominent Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader said, adding that it presented a bundle of contradictions.

“The president wants the nation to believe that he is brave but is not willing to leave the security of the president house to make a speech in Karachi.
