KARACHI: Federal government is set to issue foreign bonds worth $500 million in the current financial year, Geo News reported.

Treasury Secretary, Dr Waqar Masood said this in a briefing to Senate Standing Committee on Treasury.

He said government borrowed Rs648 billion from the banks up till Dec 2011, whereas it repaid Rs391 billion.

He also informed the Senate body that country’s total domestic debt and liabilities (DDL) have reached $61.50 billion.
