WASHINGTON: US State Department has urged Pakistan's civil and military leadership to resolve "memo" issue through dialogue, Geo News reported.

During her briefing to the newsmen, US State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said that ‘memo-gate’ was Pakistan’s internal matter and she was not sure whether it was appropriate for her to comment on the issue.

To a question, she said US had not barred Mansoor Ijaz from traveling to Pakistan.

However, Victoria Nuland confirmed that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had received a letter from top US think tanks, urging the Obama administration to ask Pakistan that United States is concerned about the security of former Pakistan ambassador Husain Haqqani.

The US scholars in their letter said that Husain Haqqani is under intense pressure and his life is in danger in the so-called memogate scandal.

Replying to a question, Nuland said that she was not aware of Present Asif Ali Zardari’s recent visit to Dubai.
