LAHORE: A petition has been filed with Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking postponement of Senate elections scheduled to be held on March 2, Geo News reported Saturday.

The petition says according to the figures of Election Commission of Pakistan there are 37.858 million bogus votes in the existing electoral roles. The present assemblies were formed on the basis of these bogus votes, it added.

If these assemblies take part in the Senate elections, it would make the results controversial, the petition argued.

Therefore, it prayed the Senate elections be postponed till the Election Commission comes up with rectified electoral roles.
