FAISALABAD: Unknown men attacked four girls by throwing acid on them before fleeing from the scene in Ghulam Muhammadabad area on Saturday, Geo News reported.

According to details four girls were on their way home after finishing work at a hosiery factory in Ghulam Muhammadabad when unknown men threw acid on the quartet and then escaped.

The rescue crew drove the girls to Allied Hospital where they were provided medical care.

Hospital sources said two girls had their faces affected while two others got their hands injured.

DCO Faisalabad Naseem Sadiq said the incident was the result of a personal resentment.

He said action would be taken against the culprits after recording of girl's statement.
