Around six armed men including a security guard escaped with millions of rupees of local and foreign currency after robbing a private bank in Karachi, reported Dunya News on Sunday.

According to police officials, six armed men including a security guard of the bank entered main branch of a private bank located on I.I. Chundrigar road in the jurisdiction of Mithadar Police Station around 8am this morning. The culprits took hostage a security guard deployed outside the bank and broke the lockers of the bank. Robbers managed to escape with millions of rupees of local and foreign currency.
Police told that the bank staff was absent due to weekly holiday, however the concerned staff was called after information of robbery. The bank staff is determining the exact robbed amount.

According to CCPO Karachi, all the information related to the involved security guard has been collected and the exact amount of robbed money would be clear after investigations. CCPO said the police officials have started investigations and Rs 5.5 million of robbed money have been recovered from a home however further proceedings are underway.
