Presently starring in two ongoing TV plays Inkaar and Ishq Zah e Naseeb, actress Yumna Zaidi has come a long way since she first started her career a few years ago. While one cannot forget her performance in Thakan (2012) alongside Saba Qamar, her recent performances have made her one of the most sought after faces in the television industry.

In the recently concluded Dil Kiya Karey, Yumna essayed the role of a modern day, educated young woman Aiman, who successfully takes up responsibilities after her husband dies. Her expressions, her dialogue delivery and the subtle performance made her character quite convincing.

In Inkaar, she is brilliantly pulling off the role of a middle class young woman called Hajra, who refuses to let go of the injustices she has faced and continues to fight for justice.

Ishq Zah e Naseeb, on the other hand, that features her as Sameera, a female alter ego of a man suffering from split personality disorder, is probably one of her finest performances. Her expressions and body language in the serial is something to be acknowledged.

Last year, Yumna won many hearts with Dar Si Jati Hai Sila that tackled the issue of harassment within the confines of a household. It was unfortunate, rather unfair, that she wasn’t nominated for it at the recently held Lux Style Awards 2019, but her performance was commendable. Given her diversity and finesse as an actor who is constantly growing, we’d love to see more of her.
