KARACHI: An activist of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) was shot dead while two others including a woman, sustained injuries in PIB Colony area of metropolis on Tuesday morning, Geo news reported.

Protesting against the killing, the coordination committee of MQM has announced mourning over the killing.

Talking to media after inquiring condition of injured people in a hospital, provincial health minister Dr Sagheer Ahmed said that the MQM activist Mansoor Akhtar, killed in the firing incident, was a sector member.

Dr Sagheer demanded immediate action against the culprits.

Meanwhile, a police van stood outside the private hospital was set ablaze by angry mob. Police after reaching the site of the incident, opened aerial fire and used tear gas to disperse the angry mob.
