ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has said that the international community needed a movement like that of our lawyers’ which safeguarded the rule of the constitution and law, Geo News reported.
Addressing the launching ceremony of a book on anti-terrorism and international law here, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that Pakistan has been a victim of terrorism for several years and added that whatever be the situation the rule of law must prevail.
Chief Justice said that coordination among the relevant quarters was imperative for eradicating the crimes. He said that the aim of the rule of law was not only awarding punishment.
Chief Justice said that the international community needed a movement like that of the one we had launched for upholding the principles of the International laws and values.
