KARACHI: Flamboyant all-rounder Shahid Afridi will skip National Twenty20 Tournament to feature in Australia’s Big Bash Twenty20 event, reported SAMAA on Tuesday.

The national T20 championship will be played from Dec 2 to 10.

According to reports, the star all-rounder is doubtful for the domestic T20 event.

Afridi has claimed that he has already obtained a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the cricket board to play for Sydney Thunders. Big Bash will be played from Dec 7 to Jan 19.

He said that he would not captain Karachi Dolphins.

Apart from Afridi, Umar Akmal and Saeed Ajmal, who were roped in by Sydney Sixers and Adelaide Strikers, are almost certain to miss out the home tournament. But they will be available for Pakistan’s upcoming tour to India. SAMAA
