Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has alleged rigging during the ongoing polling at NA-55 in Rawalpindi.
However, PML-N rejected all the allegations. Reportedly, the turnout remained very low initially owing to rain, however, a huge number of people turned up at the polling stations as soon as the weather got better. Meanwhile, international analysts visited the polling booths to monitor the electoral process. PML-N candidate Shakil Awan cast vote at Govt Islamia High School No. 4, while Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Ijaz Khan cast vote at Raja Bazaar and Sheikh Rashid at Ziaul Islam High School. Talking to media, Rashid alleged the whole Patwar Khana of committing rigging in the polls. Responding to the allegations, PML-N leader Senator Pervez Rasheed said that Sh Rashid is talking of rigging because he has read writing on the wall. Meanwhile, a Tehsildar was also caught red handed while casting a fake vote but the administration got him freed.
