Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira reiterated the government's vow that persons behind the assassination of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, in light of the United Nations Commission' report, would be brought to justice at any cost. "Whosoever is found involved in killing Mohtarma would be punished under law no matter where residing", the Minister said told newsmen after inaugurating the newly constructed building of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) here today. Kaira said the PPP-led coalition government does not believe in politics of victimization but it would not spare the criminals who deprived the people of Pakistan of a great leader. Praising Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto he said that she was a leader of international stature and she would always remain alive in people's hearts. "Martyrdom of Benazir Bhutto is not only the loss for Pakistan but for the whole world," he added. Kaira said Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was not provided proper security cover by the then government and concerned officials in Rawalpindi where she was martyred in 2007. He said following the attempt on her life in Karachi, soon after her arrival, Pakistan People's Party had been demanding for ensuring stringent security cover for Mohtarma Benazir from the government. Responding to a question, the minister said political workers are not trained in security matters so they cannot be blamed in this regard. He said it was the political workers who sacrificed their lives to save her life in the assassination attempt in Karachi. To another question, Kaira said it was political wisdom of PPP leadership that compelled Pervez Musharraf to doff his uniform. Later, through political negotiation, the party ousted Musharraf from the presidency without shedding any blood, he added.
