  1. Schedule an automatic Windows XP shutdown

    Want to automatically shutdown your machine after a period of time? Perform the following steps to automate your shutdown process:

    1. Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Scheduled Tasks
    2. At the File Menu, click New then select Scheduled Task.
    3. In the main window, double click on the New Task Icon.
    4. On the Task tab, click the Run input box and type C:\windows\system32\shutdown.exe -t 90. This will initiate Windows to perform a shutdown after 60 seconds.
    5. On the Schedule Tab click on Schedule Task and then select Once.
    6. Select Start Time and specify the time you want Windows to execute the shutdown.
    7. The Set Account Information Pop-up window will appear. On Run As input box , specify your Account or User ID.
    8. Click on password and specify your password
    9. Confirm your password then click OK

    Dear Mubasshar Bhai Is Command se system Log off Hota hai Shutdown Nahi hota main ne
    try kiya hai agar shutdown wali command hai to kindly share karein.

    yes you are right by default its effect is log off you have to specify an extra argument

    Change this Command

    C:\windows\system32\shutdown.exe -t 90


    C:\windows\system32\shutdown.exe -s -t 90

    you will get a window that will give warning that system will shutdown after 90 seconds please save your work.
