Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain on Sunday claimed that his party has made entry into the politics of Punjab, ARY NEWS reported. “Today the MQM has entered into Punjab. The people have gathered to save Pakistan form cruel feudal lords,” said Hussain in his telephonic speech from London. “No political party has so far organized such mass gatherings simultaneously in main cities of Punjab,” he claimed. The speech of the MQM chief was relayed simultaneously in workers conventions held at, Lahore, Multan, Rawalpindi, the main cities of Punjab politics. Holding mass gatherings by the MQM in political bastions of Punjab is aimed at showing of power in the province and also demonstrates its intention to enter the politics of Punjab before fielding candidates for the local body elections, political analysts say. “The 98 percent people of Pakistan are deprived of basic needs. Those who claim to be public leaders and supporters of poor masses have not resolved the real issues.” He said that his party would set the masses free of feudalism and old system of brutality. If people of Punjab supported MQM, he said, the lands of ‘cruel feudal lords’ would be sold to pay loan of the country. “MQM has entered into Punjab to deal with the cruel feudal lords. From now they all will be hold accountable for their brutality against poor masses,” he affirmed. He claimed MQM would rid the country of 62-year shackles of politics of inheritance, adding his party had lodged protest over the constitutional relating to elections in political parties. “The nation is facing problems like poverty, shortage of drinking water and unemployment but politicians only make promises while MQM is determined to fulfil them.”
