Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani emphasised the need for food security for the region and said leaders will take up the matter during the SAARC summit. The prime minister was speaking to the media while travelling to Bhutan for the summit on Monday. He added that he would urge leaders at the summit to ensure food security for the entire region. Also on the agenda for the PM during the summit would be the concept of an Energy Ring in South Asia, which was introduced by Pakistan and has become the vision of SAARC leaders. Gilani arrived in the Nepalese capital Kathmandu for an overnight stay on his way to Bhutan. Deputy Prime Minister Vijay Kumar received Gilani who will also meet the Nepalese Prime Minister and the President during his stay.
