Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said the government Pakistan sees the poverty alleviation and peace in the region to be among its top priorities, Geo News reported Wednesday. Addressing the 16th SAARC summit, he said South Asia can become the economic engine of the world, adding the people here are dreaming of Democracy has taken firm roots in Pakistan, he said. He underscored the need to boost links among the SAARC countries in achieving the common goals, adding Pakistan will extend complete cooperation in achieving these goals. He said the SAARC countries will have to strengthen the trade links. ‘Terrorism is an international, regional and local phenomenon and it has affected the whole region in the most,’ he stressed the SAARC countries will have to jointly cope with the problem, as they want to get rid of terror.
