SANTIAGO: Chilean authorities on Tuesday said they would hold a Pakistani man found with traces of explosives during a visit to the US embassy for five days, police said. His detention was being extended under anti-terror laws, the authorities said. Experts found traces of a TNT explosive derivative on the 28-year-old suspect’s hands, cell phone, bag and documentation after he went through a security checkpoint on Monday, prompting embassy staff to notify police. The man, identified by police as Mauhannas Saifur Rehnab Khan, said he did not know where the traces had come from and that he was only at the embassy to renew his visa.
