Pakistan's Ambassador to the United States Hussain Haqqani has said that the Kerry-Lugar Bill does not contain any condition regarding a restriction on Pakistan's nuclear programme.

Commenting on the Kerry-Lugar Bill, Haqqani, talking to National Public Radio and a local TV channel, said that there are no obligation's on Pakistan with regard to its nuclear status. However the bill does say in future Pakistan will not be part of any outward proliferation.

'The US assistance under Kerry-Lugar Bill represents Washington's resolve to engage with Pakistan over a long-term. I think it (the aid bill) shows US commitment and that it is not going to cut and run,' Haqqani said.

He reiterated that Pakistan is already a nuclear power and that there are no restrictions in the latest legislation of the United States.
