Chief Justice of Pakistan has observed that the Bank of Punjab scandal and the involvement of Hamesh Khan was being politicized, ARY NEWS reports.

While heading a three-member bench to hear the Bank of Punjab scandal case Thursday, the CJP noted that the case was too much important “therefore it should not be politicized.”

CJP observed that the scam seemed to be more than 9 billion rupees.

A bench also comprised Justice Ghulam Rabbani and Justice Khalilur Rehman Ramdy.

Hamesh Khan, former president of Bank of Punjab is the main accused of billion rupees bank fraud. He was produced before the apex court on Wednesday.

During the hearing, the CJ scolded counsel of Hamesh Khan over his statement to the media about political pressure. He asked why not such statement was given by the counsel in the court?

Justice Chaudhry said the Law Minister and Secretary Finance were also under allegations in the bank scandal case, and urged NAB to carry out a transparent process in the case.
