The government is presenting federal budget for fiscal year 2010-2011 in the Parliament today, ARY NEWS reported.

Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance and Economic Affairs Senator Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh will present the budget before the National Assembly.

The consolidated outlay of the next year budget is likely to be about Rs 2.6 trillion whereas revenue target is estimated at about Rs. 1.7 trillion.

The budget will have special focus on agriculture,infrastructure and social sector development and revenue collection.

Amid domestic and international challenges, the realistic GDP growth target will be 4.5 percent while in the outgoing fiscal year 4.1 percent GDP growth has been achieved.

The budget for the Fiscal Year 2010-11 beginning from July 1st next has earmarked Rs 450 billion for defence, i.e. Rs 107 billion more than the allocations for the 2009-10 fiscal. A separate allocation would be made for the war against terror.
