President Asif Ali Zardari has accused “few elements” of committing “failed attempts to create rifts in his Pakistan Peoples Party to serve their own malicious agendas”, ARY NEWS reported. The President, who also co-chairs ruling PPP, said this while talking to Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani who called on him at the Presidency here Friday. President termed the news item appeared in some sections of the media about summoning resignations from PPP’s parliamentarians “baseless and deplorable”. The two leaders discussed law and order situation in the country among other political and regional issues. PM Gilani took the President into confidence over his yesterday’s telecon with PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif and an inter-provincial meeting he chaired Thursday to review implementation on 18th Amendment.
