Counting has been completed in by-polls in Punjab Assembly’s constituency PP-160 Lahore. According to unofficial initial results, PML-N’s Saiful Malook has won his seat.
Clashes were seen at different polling stations between PML-N and Tehreek-e-Insaaf activists. At one polling station, a policeman was seen stamping continously.
The seat fell vacant after disqualification of PML-N MPA Rana Mubashar for keeping a fake degree.
PML-N’s Saif ul Maluk and Zahir Abbas Khokhar of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf along with JUI’s Jahangir Hussain Bara were running for this seat. Some 56 polling stations of the constituency were declared sensitive.
The polling began at 8am and continued till 5pm today. The total count of voters in the constituency was 187,930 and 145 polling stations were set up. The candidates of all three parties are also related to each other.
